20 Year Vision

    At this exact moment I could map out my vision for the next 5 years of my life. I plan to go to the nearby Vallejo Maritime Academy to major in marine transportation. They have a great percentile of out of school job acceptance, while the program is meant to sort those out who aren’t serious. I hope I would be starting off in a new place right out of college, looking forward to the exciting ride from home to a new place, in 5 years. Im fairly sure that will happen, and if not then good luck finding something else so interesting, but 20 or even 10 years of looking ahead is way too much for me.

    For all I know I could be chilling in the bahamas under an umbrella with a glass of refreshing drink in my hand. That scenario is a bit cheesy but where i’m going it could be true. Marine transportation widens your field of job possibilities enormously, but it would be nice to ship out on either a barge, or a cruise ship doing something interesting. Going for both options is my main goal, mostly because those jobs are so different. Barge ships equal some stormy days out on the water, sleeping when the time comes, and making sure the containers don’t fall over the side; cruise ships always shaping out to be a smooth sunny ride with plenty of sleep. On a cruise there are also constant stops on shore for the beach adventure in a beautiful place. Lets see. If everything turns out for me, I might just be lounging on a beach.
